Jan Pivac was born in Zagreb on January 26 in 1983. He developed love of art and architecture in his early childhood under the influence of his father Marijan Pivac, an architect and grandfather Bozo Beck, an art historian who was the founder of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb and for whom Jan was very much emotionally attached. Through his schooling Jan's interests were very wide, from painting over plastic arts to interior design. Finally, after finishing High school in 2001, he graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at Zagreb University and became the third generation of architects in his family. He started his design work back in college. Jan collaborated on various projects in the family planning office 3P, but very quickly started with his own projects of interior design and facility planning. He creates contemporary unintrusive but primarily functional architecture with maximum use of natural materials and transparent surfaces.
